Fabulous slender late 19thC /early 20thC Chinese Ming Style tall cupboard of traditional elm construction in sunset red lacquer.

Sometimes referred to as round corner cabinets, this piece has a wonderful aged patina developed from previous use, the gentle life scars tell us this was a cherished piece very much part of daily life. Possibly originally used for scholars books and papers, later clothing and bed linens. Today we can choose from so many possible uses including household storage, personal effects storage, tall drinks cabinet or music media cupboard?

A provincial hand made piece of traditional tenon and peg construction featuring over-sailing plank board top, plain panelled sides held between four profiled elm corner posts, two full length panelled doors incorporating timber dowel hinges and half moon bronze shield embellishments with decorative pulls. Doors open to reveal three full width shelves. Centre shelf incorporates two short frieze drawers with decorative bronze pulls, lower shelf incorporates hidden compartment accessed through lift up sliding panel, all raised on the 4 profiled stile feet formed from the continuous elm corner posts.
