219 pages in the form of a diary account of a young man’s personal encounter with the legendary and iconic star Marilyn Monroe.

In June 1956, fresh from Eton and Oxford, the twenty-three-year-old Colin Clark, younger son of Sir Kenneth, embarked on his first job (not counting a brief spell in the Bird House at London Zoo), as a humble 'gofer' on the set of The Prince and the Showgirl.

This was no ordinary production. It was based on the revolutionary idea of uniting Britain's foremost classical actor, Sir Laurence Olivier (who was also directing), with Hollywood's most glamorous sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe.

The film should have been a sure-fire box-office hit, but before the cameras had even started to roll, things began to go wrong.
